Russia’s Alfa-Bank files motions to withdraw claims against UTair

MOSCOW, May 6 (PRIME) -- Russian bank Alfa-Bank, which has earlier filed for bankruptcy of airline UTair, on Wednesday filed 10 motions to withdraw its claims against the airline to the Arbitration Court of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, the court said on its website.

Earlier Alfa-Bank filed nine bankruptcy claims against UTair worth about U.S. $65.5 million and 23 million rubles, and the court was to consider the claims on May 14.

UTair’s debt to its creditors amounted to 167 billion rubles as of December 2014. On April 17, the Economic Development Ministry approved 19.2 billion rubles worth of state guarantees to the company, and now the government’s commission led by First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov is to make a final decision on the guarantees.
